Some of the kids that met the boat.
We got a tour of the family farm where they grow date palms, mangos, and bananas. We learned that a "mother" banana tree produces one bunch of bananas, and several baby trees, suclings, from the roots. After the mother's bananas are harvested. The cut off the top and the baby trees grow from "feeding" off the mother and she eventually dies. There are basically 5-6 cycles of harvest from the mother and it's "offspring". Then they dig the "family" up and plant a new "mother". And the cycle starts again.
They climb the date palms without ropes to harvest the dates. They harvest the mangos by climbing the trees and shaking the green mangoes from their branches
